MyJustice is an access to justice programme funded by the European Union and implemented by the British Council. MyJustice aims to equip people in Myanmar with the knowledge, confidence and opportunities to access justice. Much of the work of MyJustice is being delivered by partners with deep understanding and experience of the complex political and social context of Myanmar, including a diverse range of civil society organisations (CSOs). This project aims to support select CSO partners (seven in Yangon and two in Mon), to strengthen their capacity to document cases, conduct research and use the research to inform policy discussions. The research project will take the form of documenting case studies of women’s interactions with the law across a range of different areas. Cases could include family law, gender-based violence, labour law, land law and women’s rights in conflict-affected areas, depending on the thematic areas covered by the partner CSOs and their interest. A specific outcome of this process will be to support participating CSOs to develop an advocacy approach and specific products for influencing various policy actors at both national and sub-national levels.
